COP26 CAMPAIGN ACTION & AWARENESS

THE CLIMATE VULNERABLE FORUM

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

From 2021 to present, Megaphone has been working with The Climate Vulnerable Forum, an international partnership of countries highly vulnerable to a warming planet. The Forum serves as a South-South cooperation platform for participating governments to act together to deal with global climate change.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Climate Vulnerable Forum approached Megaphone to deliver video content at COP26 in Glasgow. The core aims were to generate as much traditional and social media coverage as possible and build interest in the CVF’s Climate Emergency Pact as a key part of a successful outcome at COP26. Megaphone set out a digital strategy and production plan that involved targeting social spend according to relevant audiences.  Twitter content was tailored to policy-makers, NGOs, and stakeholders, and Tik Tok was aimed to engage climate aware younger demographics.

OUR CAMPAIGN RESULTS

The COP26 Tik Tok campaign had 2.5 million impressions and views, and the winter Tik Tok campaign combined had five million impressions. This campaign directed people to sign up to the Glasgow Emergency Pact letter – this was signed by 1000s of individuals and organisations and played a key part in getting the CVF’s core messages at COP26 heard and acted on.

IMPACT

The work of the CVF to represent those most vulnerable is critical to bringing about climate justice – their work at COP26 and ongoing COPs is essential to bringing the issues of climate vulnerable countries to the negotiating table and ensuring there is real systemic change.

We worked with Megaphone in a high-pressure environment that required rapid turnaround and strong autonomy. We were pleased to find that the team adapted to the circumstances rapidly and consistently delivered quality content that aligned with our expectations. We particularly appreciated the team’s responsiveness to our evolving needs over the course of the assignment.
